ARB - Toyota Hilux Tailgate Assist System - (2021-2026)

A pickup tailgate is useful, but its weight can quickly become annoying when you're opening and closing it repeatedly throughout the day. The ARB Tailgate Assist System is designed to make the Toyota Hilux A-Deck tailgate considerably easier and safer to operate.

Controlled Tailgate Opening

Rather than allowing the weight of the tailgate to drop freely when the handle is released, ARB Tailgate Assist controls its movement as it opens.

This provides a much smoother lowering action and helps prevent the sudden drop of a heavy tailgate, reducing the potential for injury or accidental damage during loading and unloading. 

Easier to Close

Tailgate Assist doesn't just slow the tailgate on the way down. The system also reduces the effort required to raise and close it.

Gas Strut & Torsion Bar System

ARB combines a gas strut and torsion bar mechanism to provide assistance in both directions.

The gas strut helps dampen and control the opening movement, while the complete system reduces the effort required when lifting the tailgate back into its closed position. 

Vehicle-Specific Hilux Installation

This version of ARB Tailgate Assist is engineered specifically for the Toyota Hilux with A-Deck, allowing the system to integrate discreetly with the vehicle's existing tailgate structure.

Once installed, there are no additional steps required during normal use – simply open and close the tailgate as usual, with the assistance system working automatically in the background.
