Many Volkswagon Amarok vehicle models are factory fitted with a torsion spring lifting aid for the tailgate. The ARB Tailgate Assist has been specifically designed for these applications and not only does it improve the closing assistance of the tailgate, it also allows safe, controlled opening with the addition of a dampening strut.
 
Any Amarok vehicles that do not have the factory fitted torsion spring will require the consumer to seperately purchase a genuine torsion kit from VW in order to achieve maximum closing assistance of the tailgate when fitted with an ARB Tailgate Assist.
