As standard, all 2.4 Tdci and some 2.2 Tdci Defenders are fitted with a fuel cooler on the nearside inner chassis rail.
For anyone using their vehicle off-road, this presents a potential risk. The cooler is vulnerable to damage from rocks and branches, and a failure of this unit could leave you stranded.
The D44 fuel cooler guard is a simple bolt-on product which provides valuable protection for the fuel cooler assembly, helping to safeguard your vehicle.
Mild steel with a zinc plated finish.
The 2.2 Tdci Defender does not always have a fuel cooler but does have a exposed oil pipe where the 2.4's cooler would be fitted. We are fitting these guards to 2.2's to protect the oil pipe for damage as you can see in the images.
