The Rhino-Rack Pioneer 6 Roof Rack Kit provides a complete, vehicle-specific platform system for the Volkswagen Amarok from 2010 to 2022, combining the latest-generation Pioneer 6 with Rhino-Rack's dedicated Backbone mounting system.

With a 1500 x 1240mm platform, this version provides a slightly narrower roof rack solution while retaining the strength, versatility and extensive accessory mounting options of the Pioneer 6 system.

Pioneer 6 – Lighter, Quieter & More Versatile

The Pioneer 6 represents the latest evolution of Rhino-Rack's platform system, with particular attention given to reducing unnecessary weight and aerodynamic drag while increasing the amount of usable mounting space.

There are no channel apertures interrupting the mounting surface, allowing 100% of the platform to be used when positioning compatible accessories.

Rhino-Rack has also increased the available mounting channels by up to 25%, providing considerably more flexibility when arranging equipment across the rack.

More Freedom to Mount Your Equipment

The Pioneer 6 incorporates East/West mounting channels, giving you greater freedom when positioning compatible Rhino-Rack accessories.

Whether the Amarok is being equipped for work, touring or off-road travel, the platform can be configured around the equipment you actually need to carry rather than restricting accessories to a small number of fixed mounting positions.

That makes it suitable for carrying everything from camping and recovery equipment to awnings, storage, kayaks, bikes and work gear.

Integrated Wiring

The Pioneer 6 has been designed with integrated wiring capability throughout the platform extrusions, allowing wiring for compatible lighting and powered accessories to be routed more neatly through the roof rack.

This helps keep wiring protected and produces a much cleaner installation than running exposed cables across the platform.

Designed Around the Amarok

The supplied RVAB1 Backbone mounting system is specifically designed for the Volkswagen Amarok and creates the structural connection between the vehicle and Pioneer platform.

Rather than looking like a universal platform added on top of the vehicle, the Backbone and Pioneer combination is designed to follow the roof profile for a much more integrated appearance.

Detachable wind fairing inserts in the leading edge of the platform further help manage airflow and reduce aerodynamic drag.
