Optimill - Defender Rear Door Security Hinge Kit - Black

The Optimill Rear Door Security Hinge Kit is a premium replacement hinge system for the rear door of the Land Rover Defender. Supplied as a complete set of three hinges, it combines increased security with improved strength and load-bearing performance for the Defender's rear door.

Designed and manufactured by Optimill in the UK, the hinges are CNC machined from aerospace-grade 6082-T6 aluminium and use concealed fixings to prevent access from outside the vehicle.

IMPROVED DOOR SECURITY

The Optimill design eliminates exposed external fasteners, creating an additional layer of security against unwanted rear door removal. Stainless steel hinge pins are internally pinned to further prevent removal or theft.

CNC MACHINED ALUMINIUM

Each hinge is CNC machined from a billet of aerospace-grade 6082-T6 aluminium. This provides a strong, precisely manufactured replacement for the standard Defender rear door hinges.

IMPROVED REAR DOOR SUPPORT

The increased load-bearing performance of the hinge design helps reduce wear on the Defender's rear door when supporting the spare wheel. Optimill states that the hinges remove the need for a separate swing-away wheel carrier, while remaining compatible with most swing-away carrier designs.

SELF-LUBRICATING GRAPHITE BUSHES

Self-lubricating graphite bushes reduce friction within the hinge assembly and help prevent wear during repeated opening and closing of the rear door.

PANORAMIC GLASS COMPATIBILITY

The hinge design is also compatible with panoramic glass conversions, making the kit suitable for Defenders fitted with this popular body modification.

HIGH-SECURITY FIXINGS

High-security stainless steel fixings are supplied with the hinge kit, completing the concealed and security-focused installation.

BLACK ANODISED FINISH

The hinges feature a black anodised finish. Optimill recommends avoiding Traffic Film Remover (TFR), including cleaning products containing TFR, on its anodised products.
