ARB - Base Rack 1255X1445

The ARB BASE Rack is a lightweight, low-profile roof platform designed to provide maximum carrying versatility without the bulk of a traditional roof rack. Measuring 1255 x 1445mm, this version uses a fully welded aluminium construction with seven internal cross beams to create a strong, rigid platform for touring, camping and general load carrying.

Unlike conventional platform racks that rely on a separate supporting frame, the BASE Rack is manufactured as a one-piece structure. The extruded aluminium beams feature internal bracing for strength, while the absence of a separate subframe allows the complete platform to sit closer to the vehicle. A rough black powder-coated finish provides the durable, understated appearance expected from an ARB touring system.

VERSATILE ACCESSORY MOUNTING

One of the defining features of the BASE Rack is ARB's dovetail mounting system. The dovetail profile runs around the perimeter of the rack and along both sides of every internal cross beam, providing a large number of mounting positions for compatible accessories.

Rather than sliding fittings along a conventional channel, accessories can be attached directly at the required position. This makes it easier to add, remove or reposition equipment as the vehicle's setup changes, while side-mounted accessories can leave more of the upper platform available for larger loads.

The seven transverse cross beams also provide a practical platform for securing luggage and longer equipment, with each individual beam rated to 25kg. Overall carrying capacity will depend on the vehicle and mounting system being used.

DESIGNED AROUND THE COMPLETE VEHICLE

Small details make the BASE Rack particularly well suited to permanent touring installations. Removable corner caps provide access inside the extruded beams, allowing wiring for compatible lighting and electrical accessories to be routed through the rack rather than externally around the platform.

The result is a clean, adaptable roof platform that can start with a relatively simple load-carrying setup and develop alongside the vehicle. Compatible ARB BASE Rack accessories can be added and repositioned as required, allowing the same platform to be configured for touring, camping, recovery equipment or everyday carrying.
