OME - Mitsubishi L200 Greasable Shackle Kit / (1996-2006)

The Old Man Emu Greasable Shackle Kit is designed for Mitsubishi L200 models from 1996 to 2006 fitted with compatible rear leaf spring suspension, providing a simple way to keep the spring bushes correctly lubricated throughout their service life.

Leaf spring bushes operate under considerable load while constantly moving as the rear suspension articulates. Old Man Emu urethane bushes therefore require periodic lubrication to minimise friction and wear. Conventional shackles can make this a time-consuming job, as access to the bush and pin may require parts of the suspension to be dismantled.

EASIER SUSPENSION MAINTENANCE

Old Man Emu greasable shackles solve this by incorporating lubrication points directly into the shackle pins. Each pin features two grease outlet holes, helping distribute lubricant between the pin and spring bush without removing the shackle assembly.

Keeping the bushes properly lubricated helps reduce friction and wear, extending bush life while also helping maintain smooth suspension movement and reducing the likelihood of unwanted squeaks.

BUILT FOR WORKING AND OFF-ROAD USE

The shackle pins are heat treated for durability under heavy loads and demanding off-road conditions. Zinc-plated side plates provide additional corrosion protection, while the bolt-together construction avoids the alignment problems that can occur with conventional press-fit shackle assemblies.

As part of a complete Old Man Emu rear suspension installation, the Greasable Shackle Kit works alongside the appropriate Dakar leaf springs and urethane bush kit to provide a durable and easily maintained suspension setup.

For an L200 used for work, towing, touring or regular off-road driving, the ability to lubricate the suspension without dismantling the shackles also makes routine maintenance considerably quicker and easier.
